About Me

Sam Ken is a portrait painter, figurative artist, and sketch artist. He is largely self-taught and predominantly works in oils when painting. He worked as a freelance graphic designer before focusing professionally on his own practice. Sam takes commissions for pet and human portraits when not creating his own unique work. Whether it is an oil painting, or ink drawing, his work shows his fascination with shapes found in contrasting light. He currently resides in Colorado Springs with his wife and dog, and is a proud member of the Pikes Peak Arts Council.
